FOOD is POWER! It affects every aspect of your being. What you eat has a direct correlation to your mood, motivation and YES…your ability to fight off viruses. The adage “You are what you eat” was not a catch phrase for a lost generation, but an underused mantra for the ages. The evidence for food and vitamins being the primary driver for your health and longevity is abundant. But like all “real” information, you need to dig to find it. You need to find the right sources for your research. Those untouched by the greed and manipulation of the food and drug industry. To understand the key to a happy life and longevity, we need to take a trip back to our past.
We were hunters, gatherers, farmers. What came from the Earth, was our nourishment. We have been in these rolls since the dawn of man. Our organs developed to process only natural foods. This was how we lived until not that long ago. For your body to process new types of foods (especially processed, chemically modified foods) your organs would need to adapt and change. This is an evolutionary process that takes thousands of years…not a mere eighty. The mass consumption of grains and sugar only started in the 1940s, after the end of World War II. These substances (though used for thousands of years, minimally and in natural form) were now mass produced, and overused in the name of “nutrition”. Sugar was cheap to produce and made all foods taste good. Grains were mixed with corn and chemical agents to produce something far removed from the bread of our ancestors. These two main ingredients yield high profit despite their adverse effect on the health of the public. In fact, there was so much money to be made, the U.S. Government, through their food regulating agency, the F.D.A., introduced the “food pyramid” to the American public in the 1980s. It was made into posters for schools and taught in science class. The problem was, it was not based on the science of nutrition, but instead on what the cheap, profitable food sources were in America. Government and big business continued to indoctrinate a new generation with a colorful, easy to follow, diagram. This brainwashing of the public led to the notion that starch and corn products were the basis of good, American, health and nutrition. Buzz words like "low fat" and "Heart-Healthy" were used to deceptively make the public believe by buying these products, they were making themselves healthier. Most people, including my own parents, bought into the well-illustrated lies.

We cannot process these ingredients in their current form and saturation! Our bodies have not had the evolutionary time span to create or adapt organs to utilize or remove these chemical modifications from our bodies. They put our livers and kidneys into a state of constant stress. Stress known as chronic inflammatory disease. When this happens, your immune system is in a constant daily battle to keep your body from being overrun with inflammation. The finite resource of white blood cells in the body becomes over utilized and leaves little resources available to fight off foreign invaders (colds and viruses) and rouge cellular infection (cancer). While this is happening, the lack of available, regulatory, white blood cells opens the pathway for other health issues. Insulin in the pancreas becomes spiked, causing the high amount of carbohydrate intake of the “American Diet” to turn into stored fat for energy. This insulin spike over long periods of time can also lead to the development of type II diabetes. The stored fat puts extra weight on the body, straining your heart and building up negative effects which will eventually lead to a chronic condition.
Those who have an unhealthy, processed food diet have a more difficult time fending off viruses such as COVID or the flu. When your immune system is busy fighting the daily war in your body, it doesn’t have the full resources necessary to quickly and effectively remove a virus. This is more prevalent in adults and the elderly engaged in a diet high in carbohydrates and rife with chemical additives. The reason why COVID does not affect children to a large extent is because of their rapidly developing immune system. Healthy, replacement cells are constantly being created. As you get older, your cellular reproduction slows. This is a normal part of the aging process. Cells are not reproducing nearly as fast as when we are younger. Hence the reasoning why kids can have a mildly unhealthy diet and still have an almost 0% chance of being seriously ill from viruses like COVID. The elderly and immune-compromised don’t have this advantage.

If you are afraid of your child receiving the COVID vaccine but still worried they won’t be able to fight the virus, you need to look for the answer in your child’s nutritional intake. Does your child eat “from the Earth”? Natural produce and vegetables…good meats and fish? OR do they eat mostly processed foods? Is their diet based out of a bag or box? The answer must be honest. You have much more control over your child’s health (and your own for that matter) than you believe. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. In the end, do you trust the food industry or your parental instincts? The cure for fear is education. Listen to your gut. A good parent is never wrong.
So, what’s the plan? What do you do to put your child’s immune system in a place of strength and readiness? If you have read this far, you are ready for the harsh reality of what I have to say next. Stop the junk! The fast food, bagged snacks, candy, and high starch foods. Severely limit the sugar and amount of carbohydrates in your child's diet. Look for healthy alternatives. Most importantly, read nutrition labels. If you don’t know what the ingredient is on the label, it doesn’t belong in your child’s body. This alone will make a quick and noticeable change in their overall health and happiness.
You now have the knowledge and reasoning to make an informed choice. Following a whole foods diet is the best protection any individual can provide their body to defend itself against disease. Food = medicine. This is not conjecture or the rantings of a conspiracy theorist. These are the definitive facts you won’t find readily available in the current mainstream. If you are afraid of COVID, drop the sugar, lower the carbohydrate intake, and eat good foods. The only one that can protect you or those you love is yourself. Armed with this knowledge and the will to survive, this is now the first day of living!
